San-X net shop is operated by emix which does not ship internationally but they also work very close to this international shipping service called Tenso.com. You can see a small little add of tenso at the bottom of the San-X net shop main page.
As for cost, in addition to the cost of the plushies/purchases:
San-X will charge a flat 500 yen local shipping fee (~5.53 USD), shipping (with tracking) took ~3 days for me
Tenso will charge a 490 yen service fee (~5.42 USD)
Tenso will charge an EMS delivery fee (depending on weight) – I paid 2220 yen shipping (~24.54 USD) for 5 plushies, and shipping (with tracking) was super fast.
Your credit card company MAY charge a international service fee (check your credit card policy – some do not add this charge, like travel rewards cards)
In this partnership, Tenso has come out with a short guide (in English) on to how to order from the San-X Net Shop using their service. It’s great and succinct, but I’ll expand on a few points after the jump:
1: Register at Tenso.com
Becoming a memeber is fairly straightforward. Registration is free and in English ( and few other lauguages). Sign up with your current address( that Tenso will ship your package too). After registration they will give you a address which is your Tenso address which you will have to keep when registering for San- X.
2. Register at San-X net shop
Speaking of San-X go to: http://shop.san-x.co.jp/
While Tenso has multiple lauguages to chose from, San- X has only japanese. So, if you can't read japanese like me, I highly recommend using Goggle Chrome which has a option to translate the whole page. If you don't have Goggle Chrome then you can download it or copy and paste everything to google translate.

If this gets too confusing, try using this Tenso guide for inputting the shipping address.
Once this is all confirmed, log in at the San-X Net Shop, and you can begin shopping!
Even though the Net Shop is in Japanese, ordering is surprisingly pretty straightforward – if you’ve shopped online before, the process is the same and the buttons are all about where you’d expect them to be; I’ve just provided a few screenshots for clarity. For convenience, click here to go straight to the Rilakkuma items hahaha.
Click the big brown button with a arrow next to it!
The next few screens will be asking you to put your credit card info. You should check over your card’s international policies – since San-X charges in yen, some credit card companies will add a charge for the conversion, and some will not (like travel rewards cards). San-X accepts a ton of credit cards, and that part is pretty standard. Also, I’ve found that my Google Chrome translator kind of goes wild while the order is being processed, but this doesn’t affect your order.
Once everything is set, confirmed, and paid for at the San-X Net Shop side of things, they’ll send you a few emails (your order confirmation from an @emix.jp address, and your payment confirmation from an @aeon.co.jp address).
Then your order will ship to the Tenso warehouse! This took only 1 day for mee because I ordered on a weekday. When you order on weekends or the holiday season, it might take longer as San-X is very busy.
4. Ship from Tenso!
Then tenso will send you an email telling you when your package arrives. Form there, go on the Tenso page and login. Click on the MY PAGE button on the top bar, scroll down and you will see a airplane icon with a number 1 next to it with some words. Click there and scroll all the way to the bottom. Then they will ask you to give them a identification document. They will give you choices of wheater you want to upload image, email or mail you identification document. I had a little struggle with that because when I chose upload image, my image was too small. So they sent me an email telling the problem and the second time it worked! From then on wait for Tenso to approv your identification document and then pay money for the EMS international shipping fee. Then you San-X package will be at process to your address! They will also send you a email when your package left Tenso warehouse with your tracking number.
THEN YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR PACKAGE ANYTIME FROM THEN ON!
I hope this guide helped and happy Rilakkuma shopping!
